My name is Ben, and I am an academic professional within the College of Engineering at my alma mater, the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, where I majored in economics while studying Japanese language on the side. I am an Associate IT Specialist with Engineering IT Shared Services, and my office is located in 1129 Mechanical Engineering Laboratory.
I was born and raised in Santa Monica, California, and although I have now lived in Champaign, Illinois for three and a half years, I am still adjusting to life in the Midwest. While a student, I was the treasurer and executive officer of both Illinois Model United Nations and Varsity Men's Glee Club, keeping myself plenty busy creating opportunities for other students to succeed.
On the side, I am pursuing a master's degree in broadcast journalism within the College of Media and remain a part of Illinois Model United Nations as the Member Emeritus. I am also a member of Japanese Conversation Table, a registered student organization that helps students hone their Japanese-speaking skills.
